Web Development Portfolio

Portfolio of Work: Charity / Not for Profit

Client: Slow Living Greece
Location: Thessaloniki, Greece
URL: www.slowlivinggreece.com

Slow Living Greece is a site established to demonstrate the benefits of a slow living / slow food lifestyle. It also allows the site owner, Christine Willis, to promote her renowned pottery works. We were asked to build a site that included a blog, was easy to navigate and would do well on the search engines. All three requirements were met through using WordPress and overlaying a custom theme design, then enhancing the site with custom widgets such as a newsletter signup and send function. Within days of launching, Christine was getting positive emails from readers on the other side of the globe in response to the articles that had been posted to the site and each week the site goes from strength to strength with even more positive comments.

Client: Birth Choices
Location: Thessaloniki, Greece
URL: www.birthchoices.gr

Birth Choices operates in Northern Greece with the aim of providing reliable unbiased information on the options available to expectant mothers with regards to their baby's delivery. The organisation's previous site was built in Flash and could not be easliy maintained and Birth Choices contacted Ampheon to develop a bi-lingual content-managed web site. We designed a custom WordPress theme, and extended the design with custom WordPress widgets to create the web site which included a blog, forum and standard pages of information - all of which the organisation can self-manage. The site defaults to Greek but has an English language selection option.

Client: British Committee for the Restitution of the Parthenon Marbles
Location: London

The British Committee for the Restitution of the Parthenon Marbles are the leading organisation outside Greece campaigning for the return of the Parthenon Marbles (also known as the Elgin Marbles). The purpose of the site is to disseminate information about the campaign and the reasons behind it, and to encourage participation from Internet visitors to support the return. This is the Committee's first web site, and Ampheon managed and consulted on the project from initial discussions through to site launch. The site nature meant frequent updates, and Ampheon's custom-written content management tool was integrated to meet this requirement.
